| What Are They Up To? |
Since 1990, when the band split acrimoniously, individuals have all done their own things with varying degrees of success. Hadley, Norman and Keeble toured regularly in 2002; after another round of court battles, the part of the band still active called themselves Hadley, Norman and Keeble – ex Spandau Ballet. This trio’s careers had virtually dried up until 2001, although Hadley tried to continue with a number of solo releases. Led by Hadley, they sued Gary Kemp (who wrote all the songs) for more royalties, and despite being offered out-of-court settlements, remained stubborn and lost the case in early 1999. Kemp still gets 100% of the royalties, continues as a stage actor and released a solo album. Martin Kemp became the most ‘famous’ in England as a character in UKTV show Eastenders. An official book on the band is due out soon. |
