| What Are They Up To? |
Kraftwerk are touring Europe, US, Canada and Japan from Feb to April 2004. They also toured much more than usual throughout 2003, including semi-star billing at Australia's 'Big Day Out' music festivals in January 2003.
To add to their bank vaults a few years back, they recorded a jingle, 'Expo 2000’, for the German government and were paid a staggering 400,000DM for it! It was extended to a single and was released in Germany in 1999, elsewhere in 2000 - the first new composition from them since 1986. Also in 2001, Kraftwerk provided a vocoded introduction for Ryuichi Sakamoto's charity project Zero Landmine and Wolfgang Flür wrote a book about his time in the band. |
