The individuals from Depeche Mode are still off doing solo stuff. Dave Gahan did very well out of his 'Paper Monsters' album and tour, which finished November 2003. Martin Gore released 'Counterfiet2', his second covers album, in April 2003, and did a mini-tour, which finished in June. Andy Fletcher has a record label of his own to play with - 'Toast Hawaii' - with the first artist, 'Client', a female duo, just releasing their second single.
But we hope they get back together – they’re just one of the most consistent bands from the 80s in terms of song quality and live power.
Depeche Mode havn’t toured together since November 2001 when they finished an 84-show ‘world’ tour in support of their most recent album ‘Excite’. 'Exciter' ended up peaking at #1 in Germany, France, Sweden, Greece and a few other ‘minor’ European nations. It topped out at #8 in USA, #9 in UK and #20 in Australia. |
